Fireworks Are A Great Addition To Any Wedding

February 8, 2013 by The Bang

They provide a spectacle that everyone, from your youngest to oldest guests, will enjoy. When it comes to choosing the best fireworks for your wedding there are number of things that you’ll need to factor in, we have put together a list of 4 key points of things to consider when planning a fireworks display for such an event.

[accordion]
[acc title=”Will your venue allow you to have fireworks?”]You need to find out if your venue is suitable or will even allow firework displays. Some venues may have an issue with the noise level generated by the fireworks, which can be dealt with by carefully selecting the fireworks to be used. Other venues may have lots of mature trees which could present a problem for high aerial fireworks and the most important issue to be dealt with is whether there is sufficient space for the fireworks to be fired safely.[/acc]
[acc title=”Who will be letting them off?”]You have two choices here, a professional display or a self-fired display.

  1. Professional Display

If you are having a professional company organize the display for you all of the above issues would be dealt with. A professional firework display company will conduct a site visit to the proposed venue and prepare a risk assessment based on that visit. Special conditions may then be required to be complied with for the firework display to take place safely, such as where the spectators should stand and where cars should be parked. A professional firework display company will then design a show to your particular requirements, including colour schemes and special fireworks of the bride and grooms initials, which is a fantastic special touch. You can also add music to your display to take it to the next level. Professional teams will be able to carefully choreograph the display to fit in with your chosen music. A professional firework display company will also be properly insured which some venues may insist upon.

  2. Self-Fired Display

Recent advances in firework design have meant that the public can now purchase easy to set up and use fireworks that produce a spectacular display. These fireworks are commonly known as ‘single ignition displays’ or ‘a display in a box’. This type of firework often just needs to be placed on flat ground, a single fuse is lit and they produce a constant aerial display lasting several minutes. Several of these fireworks can be lit one after the other or simultaneously to produce a more intense of longer lasting display. There are minimum viewing distances for fireworks but a good firework supplier would be able to advise you on the most suitable fireworks for your event. Budgets for the self-fired ‘display in a box firework’ are considerably less than a professionally fired display, costing a few hundred rather than a few thousand, yet the effects produced by these fireworks are of a professional standard.

[acc title=”Staying Safe”]If you are organizing your own firework display then unless you personally want to be involved in the letting off of the fireworks you need someone to actually light them. Ensure that you have someone responsible and preferably with some previous experience of letting off fireworks who you can rely on. A simple demarcation between the spectators and the fireworks such as a rope barrier or a wall is often enough to make it obvious where the spectator’s safety area is but it is a good idea particularly for larger numbers of guests to have stewards responsible for spectator safety. Remember to tidy up afterwards.[/acc]
[acc title=”When do you have them?”]The most popular time for the fireworks during a wedding celebration is just before the bride and groom leave, however its worth checking that there are no restrictions regarding the time firework displays have to finish.[/acc]
