New Year Fireworks Display Dec. 31st 2014

New Years Eve is one of the biggest celebrations worldwide, and fireworks are used by almost every nation to see in the new year.

The new year first arrives in New Zealand, then in Australia, where many people will have seen the famous fireworks used over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House amongst other iconic buildings in the city.  In total over 7 tonnes of fireworks and 100,000 pyrotechnic effects are used to create this amazing show watched by millions around the world, either there in person or on TV or on-line.

As midnight travels around the world fireworks are used to celebrate the start of the New Year. The 509 metre high Taipei 101 Tower is used to spectacular effect for an intense display lasting around 3 minutes.

As the new year arrives in the rest of the world most of the major cities use fireworks to bring in the new year, most cities using their iconic landmarks as backdrops, such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and most of the major hotels on the Las Vegas strip, including The Stratosphere, MGM and many more.

In addition to the professional displays the general public hold their own firework displays to bring in the New Year. One light single ignition display boxes that available for the general public to but make hosting a spectacular display simple.

Once again London will host one of the most spectacular new year’s eve firework displays in the world. The bongs from Big Ben will start the fireworks which will last for around 10 minutes. The celebrations then continue up to around 12.45am with a live DJ, if you want to stay a while and avoid the ques to get home.

it is best to get into one of the designated viewing areas early, before 10:30 is recommended to secure a place as it can get very busy, if you are not in a viewing are you may not be able to see the fireworks at midnight.

If you are travelling into Central London on New Year’s Eve, make sure you plan your journey well in advance. The  Transport for London (TfL) web site will give you the latest information. There will be major changes to the usual tube and train services, plus some roads and bridges will be closed. Travel on all Transport for London journeys will be free between 11.45pm on New Year’s Eve, and 4:30am on New Year’s Day. Allow plenty of time for your journey.

Tips on the night.

Remember it could be very cold so wear plenty of warm clothing. Remember basic safety; stay with your group of friends, have a pre-arranged meeting place if you get split up & keep valuables well hidden or preferably don’t take valuables with you.
