Can Fireworks Be Shipped?

July 16, 2018 by The Bang

The simple answer is yes. Yes, they can. However, the more complex answer is no, they can’t be shipped by conventional means. You can’t just pop a firework in the post. Due to them being highly explosive, they must be sent by specialist carriers.

At Jordans Fireworks, we use our own vehicles and specialist couriers to transport our fireworks to addresses throughout the mainland UK. However, as fireworks must be stored in the correct manner when being delivered, specialist insurance is needed, and there are rules which must be abided to, delivery charges are considerably higher than those for sending out non-firework items. There are also very few couriers who will deliver fireworks nationally and only so many fireworks can be put on a van at any one time.

Whilst fireworks cannot be sent in the conventional post as they are classed as explosives, that’s not to say we haven’t come across companies sending fireworks out illegally. Unfortunately, we have. However, don’t think that you can get around the expensive delivery charges by choosing companies who flout the rules. Often if you order from someone who does not comply with the strict transport of explosives regulations, then your order will most likely not get delivered. This is something that many customers tell us they have previously experienced.

So that you are sure when your fireworks will be delivered by us, we will contact you immediately after you have placed your order to book in a suitable delivery date with you. This will usually be Monday to Friday.

It may be that you do not want immediate delivery. For instance, we get many customers purchasing fireworks in our spring sale and then requesting that we do not send them out until just before 5th November, when they require them. We will be more than happy to hold your fireworks order in our secure storage facility for as long as you need us to.

Should you require your fireworks to be delivered to a business address, you will be able to receive £5.00 off the cost of your order. Simply enter BUSADD in the promotional code box in the shopping cart to receive this discount.

Whilst if you are spending over £295 on fireworks, you will be able to get your fireworks delivered for free.

If you don’t require your fireworks to be delivered and are able to collect, we welcome collections from our Leamington Spa store. If choosing to collect, you won’t pay any extra than the price of your fireworks. Our store is open during the following times;

Monday to Friday: 9.00am – 5.30pm
Saturday: 9.00am – 5.15pm
Sunday: Closed except for certain dates in October, November & December when we open 11.00am – 5.00pm. Please check our delivery information page for our latest opening hours.

If choosing to have your fireworks delivered, the following delivery charges will apply;

Order value over £295: Delivery = FREE*

Order value between £100 & £294.99: Delivery = £19.95

Order value under £100: Delivery = £29.95

We are able to offer a Saturday delivery upgrade at a cost of £40 – you will need to add this to your shopping cart.

Non-firework items (Chinese Lanterns, Glow Sticks etc) = Please contact us for a price.
