It is that time of year again, Blackpool’s World Fireworks Championship is due to commence. The event is going to be jaw-dropping and a great source of entertainment, regardless of your age. Blackpool itself is one of Britain’s greatest tourist attractions, so it is the perfect opportunity to take an extended weekend break.
So about the event itself, the line-up includes an array of international teams, with Sweden on the 5th, Austria on the 12th, Canada on the 19th and then a celebratory display from a British team on the 26th. The winner announcement will also take place on the final day. Each team has their own area of expertise to bring:
Sweden
The team from Sweden will be Linders Pyrotechnics, they have more than 30 years of experience and are absolutely huge in Sweden. They supply fireworks to over 300 retailers and are responsible for entertaining Swedish crowds many times a year. Although this will be their first international firework display, they know just how to leave the audience in complete awe.
Austria
Austria’s team is called Lukasser Design Fireworks and the main man behind this is Armin Lukasser. He is renowned for his spectacular use of fire and ability to create emotional scenes in the sky. He has won awards all over the world and is known as a leader in the field of fireworks. His displays are unique, using geometric designs and the sky like a canvas.
Canada
Firemaster Products will be representing the Canadians, and they specialise in larger scale productions and pyro-musical displays. They were involved in the opening ceremony of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and are famous for using music in coherence with their displays.
Britain
For the celebratory display, Titanium will be gracing the night with their fantastic displays. With over 50 years of experience, the management know exactly how to work a crowd. They were featured in the Olympics and Paralympics Opening and Closing ceremonies in London 2012. They have been watched by a global audience, and have never failed to disappoint!
With this extraordinary line-up, the displays are going to blow your mind! There are car parks available and the event begins at 7pm. The best part is that the event is entirely free. Visit the website for more information.
